Arkansas unemployment rate slightly up after five-month streak

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Data from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the Arkansas unemployment rate has slightly increased after being unchanged for five months.

According to the agency, the state’s unemployment rate rose to 3.8% from July to August. The unemployment rate had held a streak of 3.7% since March.

State officials said there are 1,683 more employed and 797 additional unemployed Arkansans actively looking for work, which caused the rate to jump one-tenth of a percentage point…
