Agency issues Harmful Algal Bloom Advisory for Bear Creek Lake in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An advisory has been issued for a harmful algal bloom that has occurred at Bear Creek Lake in Lee County.

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment’s (E&E) Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) stated that organisms known as Cyanobacteria make up the harmful algal bloom and have been spotted in the lake.
