AFMC leads statewide effort to connect Arkansas kids to health coverage

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) has been awarded funding from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to help children in Arkansas gain access to affordable health coverage. The initiative focuses on connecting eligible children, pregnant women, and families to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and improving program retention to ensure children grow up healthy and thrive.

AFMC will work closely with the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) and other statewide partners to provide community outreach and education to families to increase awareness and understanding of health care coverage options. This initiative emphasizes reaching Arkansas families in rural and underserved communities.
