NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock Fire Department officials said an investigation is underway after a destructive fire in Rose City on Tuesday night.

Capt. Gary Williams with NLRFD said that the fire occurred at about 8 p.m. at a house he understood was undergoing renovation on Haywood Street. The house is still standing but heavily damaged, he said.

A confirmed structure fire requires a response by two engine companies, one aerial truck, a pumper, a rescue unit and two battalion chiefs, Williams said.

The investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire, including the possibility of arson, Williams said. He would not confirm or deny that Rose City has had recent arson incidents, but was able to state that the department had several “persons of interest” in its ongoing investigations.
