Maumelle police mourn death of officer after 26 years of service

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Maumelle Police Department (MPD) announced the passing of one of their officers on Saturday.

Officials stated that Officer Christopher Michael Stroud had lost his battle with cancer after serving 26 years with the department.

“As a School Resource Officer, Officer Stroud dedicated himself to creating a safe, supportive environment for students and staff,” said Maumelle Police Chief Cory Pickard. “He was more than a law enforcement presence, he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady source of encouragement for young people, navigating some of the most formative years of their lives. Officer Stroud built genuine relationships based on trust and respect, and his influence reached far beyond the walls of the school.”…
