Eleven employees on leave, one fired after resident’s death at Arkansas human development center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that 11 employees have been put on administrative leave and one other has been terminated after an adult resident at a center passed away.

According to the DHS, the incident happened on Sept. 7 when an adult resident of the Southwest Arkansas Human Development Center passed away following “a behavior incident that led staff to use physical and chemical restraints.”

DHS said that they reviewed the incident and found that staff failed to follow protocol, which has since led to 11 employees being put on administrative leave and one other being terminated…
