ASP investigates fatal shooting in Carlisle, suspect in custody

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning in Carlisle. The Carlisle Police Department (CPD) requested ASP investigate.On November 2, 2025, CPD officers responded to a shooting call in the 400 block of North Greenlaw Avenue. Upon arrival, CPD officers discovered Eric Roland, 37, of Searcy, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified Cyle Cooney, 40, of Carlisle, as the suspect. Cooney reportedly fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram.

The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office located and apprehended suspect Cyle Cooney, 40, of Carlisle at around 8:30 a.m.

Cooney was transported to the Lonoke County Detention Center, where he is being held on charges including First Degree Murder, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons…
