LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – 5 Star Cutz is stepping up to offer a helping hand to those hit hardest by the ongoing government shutdown, providing free haircuts to families impacted by the furlough.
The generous gesture, made public through owner Marvin Cawthon’s social media and business platforms, aims to ease the burdens on families and individuals struggling to obtain their benefits through the SNAP program, EBT and disruptions in their paycheck cycles.
“Coming up, me and my family didn’t have it the best,” Cawthon said. “Some of the benefits people are losing right now are the same ones that helped me when I was younger.”
