LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — An Arkansas State Trooper is being praised after footage captured a violent struggle during a highway traffic stop — one that ended when a passing motorist pulled over to help her restrain a resisting suspect.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Trooper Alexandria Duncan had stopped a vehicle for speeding when the driver, Angel Zapet-Alvarado, refused to comply with orders. What began as a standard citation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation on the roadside.

Traffic Stop Turns Violent

Dashcam video released by state authorities shows Trooper Duncan attempting to arrest Zapet-Alvarado outside his gray hatchback near the shoulder of a busy Arkansas highway.
