Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has approved more than $153.9 million in new funding to improve water and wastewater systems across 52 Arkansas communities, impacting more than 814,000 residents. The funds were awarded through the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and include Clean Water Revolving Loans, Drinking Water Revolving Loans, and Small, Underserved, and Disadvantaged Communities grants.
Sanders emphasized that strong water infrastructure is critical for community growth, health, and economic development. State leaders echoed her message, noting that updated systems will help ensure safe, reliable water access for decades.
Since taking office, Sanders has directed more than $2.7 billion toward water projects across all 75 counties, making water system modernization a statewide priority.
