U.S. Marshals arrest suspect wanted for 2024 Putnam County rape in Arkansas

PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — U.S. Marshals arrested a man in Arkansas who authorities said raped a 13-year-old girl in Putnam County last year.

Detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said on Aug. 24, 2024, they were notified that 24-year-old Juan Ivan Ramirez-Alvarez climbed into the teen’s bedroom window and raped her.

The PCSO said during the investigation, it was found that Ramirez-Alvarez “was in a relationship with the victim” and snuck into the home to rape her.

While detectives were working to positively identify the suspect, Ramirez-Alvarez fled to Arkansas, per the PCSO. A warrant was obtained, and U.S. Marshals arrested him.

He was transported back to the Putnam County Jail and has been charged with one count of aggravated statutory rape. As of publication, he is in custody on a $150,000 bond…
