LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock School District has appointed the inaugural principal of a high school set to open in two years.
LRSD officials said Steven Helmick, the current principal of Roberts Elementary School, was appointed to serve as the first principal of Pinnacle Valley High School, which they said will open in 2027.

The district said Helmick has 15 years of teaching and administrative experience to bring to the role.
