Protesters outside Tim’s Tavern demand stronger action in owner’s assault case

BENTON, Ark. (KATV) — A controversy surrounding one Benton restaurateur continued this week as protestors gathered outside Tim’s Tavern to speak out against owner Timothy Steppach’s recent sentencing.

Steppach was arrested in 2024 and charged with 5 counts of sexual assault against a then-14-year-old girl who worked at his restaurant.

Two weeks ago, Steppach pleaded no contest to three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and no jail time…
