1. AR pediatric group opposes CDC committee’s newborn Hepatitis B vaccine recommendation

Friday morning, a committee of CDC vaccine advisors, all appointed by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., voted to end the longstanding recommendation that all newborns get the hepatitis B vaccine within 24 hours of birth.

Whether the recommendation is adopted is up to the CDC’s director, but many medical and public health groups, including here in Arkansas, say it endangers babies…
