Stolen Chicago-area 18-wheeler recovered on I-30
A Chicago man is facing felony charges in Arkansas after authorities say he was driving a semi-truck and trailer reported stolen out of Cook County, Illinois.
Court documents made public this week say that Bartosz Wozniak, 34, was arrested Oct. 10, 2025, after Arkansas State Police made a traffic stop after learning that the stolen vehicle was traveling west on Interstate 30 through Clark County. A police affidavit notes that dispatchers advised troopers that the vehicle’s owner was actively tracking it via GPS. The coordinates showed the truck to be traveling westbound near the 83 mile-marker near the Caddo Valley exit.
Trooper Kemp Smith positioned his patrol car on the shoulder of the on ramp at the Arkadelphia exit and, within minutes, observed the truck pass by. Smith followed, catching up with the 18-wheeler at the 68 mile-marker, near the Gurdon exit. Smith radioed ahead for backup before initiating a traffic stop, notifying a trooper stationed in Nevada County who staged himself at the 49 mile-marker, where the pair of troopers would conduct the traffic stop…
