LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — This year Arkansas took the first steps toward bringing new, high-tech nuclear power plants called small modular reactors to the state. Lawmakers in October initiated a feasibility study that recently brought on board a Canadian SMR developer.
Though the technology is in its infancy, SMR’s are an increasingly attractive prospect to meet energy demands, and Arkansas is no exception.
