FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Dozens of national store and restaurant chains closed the doors of some of their Arkansas locations in 2025 after suffering a difficult year.
KNWA/FOX24 pooled together a list of some of those chains that closed up shop somewhere in the Natural State.
GameStop
Video game store chain GameStop said in a March SEC filing that it planned to close a “significant number” of stores in 2025 after conducting an “optimization review” that took into account individual store performance.
Nearly a dozen stores closed in Arkansas, located in Jacksonville, Clarksville, Hot Springs, North Little Rock, Paragould, Searcy, Fort Smith, Magnolia, Mountain Home and Texarkana. However, about 10 stores in Arkansas remain open heading into 2026.
Kohl’s
