LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Recovery advocates at Serenity Park Recovery Center are urging people to be mindful of their alcohol consumption during New Year’s Eve, which is one of the biggest drinking days of the year. They caution that holiday celebrations can easily turn into setbacks.
They mentioned alcohol is frequently accepted in social situations, particularly around the holidays. They advise people to check in with themselves and identify when alcohol may be having a negative impact, even though drinking is not always a problem.

Serenity Park’s admissions director, Justin Welborn, claims to have personally witnessed the harm that alcohol can do and claims that it is more harmful than many illegal substances.
“I’ve seen more damage from alcohol than any other drug,” Welborn said. “I’ve been in hospitals, I’ve gone to people’s rooms where their health is just completely deteriorated from alcohol.”…
