JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is giving Christmas trees a second life by converting them into fish habitat in lakes and reservoirs across the state.
The commission collects donated Christmas trees, cleans them up and sinks them underwater to create beneficial fish habitat.
Once submerged, the trees serve three important functions: they provide hiding places for small fish, become food sources for algae and insects as they decompose, and attract larger fish, creating new fishing hot spots for bass and crappie…
