LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Little Rock police said they have increased enforcement of the state’s loitering law after safety concerns raised this summer by Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin, though the city’s vice mayor said enforcement has not been consistent.
On July 10, Griffin warned that loitering and panhandling near busy streets and intersections had become a safety and quality-of-life issue. He urged the Little Rock Police Department and city leaders to enforce Act 255, a state law intended to prevent behavior that could endanger pedestrians or create traffic hazards.
