There is some tax relief coming for Arkansans with the end of state sales tax on groceries. Keep in mind, even if there is no state sales tax on groceries, some local county or city taxes might still apply. With rising cost of groceries these days any kind of relief is welcome at this point. According to KATV-7, this change represents a $4.4 million reduction in state sales tax.

Good news for Homeowners Living in Arkansas

If you own a home in Arkansas you could benefit from a homestead property tax credit, from $100 to $600 per property.

New Businesses Who Relocate to Arkansas Can Benefit With Tax Breaks

Another new law in Arkansas in 2026 allows businesses who relocate their headquarters to the Natural State can receive a new income tax credit. In addition to investment tax credits to help offset income or sales taxes.

New Medical and Health Laws in 2026 in Arkansas

Under medical coverage plans in the state treatment of severe obesity will now be allowed but it does not include the GLP-1 drugs used for weight loss or injectable insulin. Other health-related plans include expanding coverage on childbirth at licensed centers, lung cancer screenings, breast reconstruction procedures and other breast related medical services.
