Mother pushes for Highway 107 safety changes after Sherwood crash

SHERWOOD, Ark. — A serious crash at the intersection of Highway 107 and Brockington Road has reignited safety concerns along one of Sherwood’s busiest corridors, prompting a local mother to push for broader, data-driven roadway improvements.

Heather Shatzer says her son and his best friend were critically injured on November 8, 2025, when another driver ran a red light and struck their vehicle as they traveled northbound on Highway 107.

“My son and his best friend were coming home after grabbing food at a local fried chicken place,” Shatzer said. “They were blindsided at the intersection when a driver ran the red light while crossing Highway 107.”
