Tall people unite: Little Rock hosts ‘Living While Tall’ meetup

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Little Rock is about to get a little taller this weekend as the “Living While Tall” meetup makes its debut. Madison Pitts, the event host, and promoter Michelle Sanders are bringing the social media trend of tall meetups to Arkansas. Inspired by Tyler B’s viral tall gatherings, Pitts decided to launch her own event after starting her “Living While Tall” brand in August.

When asked about her motivation for the event, Pitts said, “Throughout my life, I’ve been tall. I was 510, in the fifth grade, so I’ve been tall majority of my life, and you do stick out like a sore thumb. You can become a spectacle at times. And this event I’m creating is for other tall people to come and not have to be that enjoy a night where you can’t talk to people in your direct eyesight and not have to bend over and just create maybe some call friendships networking.”

In addition to socializing, the event will feature a thrift table and a resource bucket for donations. Items will be donated to Goodwill and homeless veterans, with a focus on tall-approved clothing and resources. “As a tall person, it’s hard with resources to actually find clothes that fit, shoes that are big enough. So I can imagine someone that’s less fortunate, how hard it could be for them. So I will be that was big for me, giving back to less fortunate tall people,” Pitts explained…
