Arkansas tops nation in food insecurity, USDA study shows

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -Arkansas ranks first in the nation for food insecurity, according to a new study by the United States Department of Agriculture, with nearly one in five households struggling with food access from 2022 through 2024.

Sylvia Blain, CEO of Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, said the ranking reflects an ongoing challenge for the state.
