JACKSONVILLE, Ark.- Last year, many animal shelters across the state reported a spike in stray animals and returned adoptions. The Jacksonville Animal Shelter is now reporting the same problem and has nearly 100 dogs and cats at their facility.
Maddison Binstee said they need as much community support as they can get.
“Right now we have more dogs than we do cats. So, it’s really imperative for us to get dogs out so that we don’t have to make hard decisions about who gets to stay and who doesn’t,” Binstee said. “We really don’t like making those decisions. We do our best to avoid it, following every avenue we can, rescue adoptions, fosters.”…
