Arkansas approves $34 million for school vouchers, teacher shortage

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — In a subcommittee meeting Tuesday, Arkansas lawmakers approved $32 million for Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) for the 2025-26 school year.

It seemed to be the more controversial of the two requests the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) made of the Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review Subcommittee, based on lawmaker feedback.
