Burn bans expand into eastern Arkansas as wildfire risk rises

EASTERN ARKANSAS — Burn bans are edging into East and Northeast Arkansas.

The Arkansas Forestry Commission said all of Arkansas is in a moderate wildfire risk. Fourteen Arkansas counties are now under a burn ban with most of those in either Northwest or Southwest Arkansas.

However, the Arkansas Forestry Commission has placed four counties in Northeast Arkansas under a burn ban. Those are Sharp, Izard, Independence and Cleburne counties…
