Like Fuller, Like Son: Fuller and Son Hardware & Lumber Builds on Legacy

No business passes the century mark without having gotten at least a few things right. For four generations of the Fuller family, the key to success looks just as it did on opening day 105 years ago, even if the same cannot be said for some of the products on the shelves or other aspects of the hardware business.

“It’s that we don’t just have a business here,” said Jeff Fuller, owner of Little Rock’s Fuller and Son Hardware & Lumber alongside his father and brother. “This is where we live. This is our community.”

That mindset has persisted since Walter “Pop” Fuller first opened his feed and farm supply shop at the corner of 28th and Arch streets in 1921. Now at the helm are grandson Bobby Fuller and his sons, Jeff and J.R., each generation passing down an example of customer service that has kept people coming back long enough to bring their own grandchildren to the store.
