Arkansas emergency responder injured, suspect in custody after fight in ambulance

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An emergency responder is recovering from minor injuries, and one person is in custody after a fight in an ambulance Sunday afternoon.

It happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 530 northbound near the Pratt Road exit, about 7 miles south of downtown Little Rock.

A spokesperson for Arkansas State Police says an EASI ambulance crew requested help when a person they were transporting became combative, assaulted crew members, stole the ambulance and left the crew on the highway.
