BUXTON, N.C. (KNWA/KFTA) — The father of a missing Arkansas man, last seen earlier this month, says he believes his son “perished in the sea,” according to a social media post.
Chris Palmer, 39, was last in contact with his family on Jan. 9. The National Park Service said that on Jan. 12, park rangers found Palmer’s red 2017 Ford F-250 stuck on the beach at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, located on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Palmer was declared missing by Arkansas authorities on Jan. 16.
Bren Palmer, Christopher’s father, said in a social media post on Jan. 24 that the family decided to request that all active search efforts end.

Knowing this has helped us understand the choices he made,” Bren Palmer said. “Christopher loved the outdoors and valued his independence.
