Little Rock Police Department introduces new physical ability test for recruits

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Have you ever tried jumping hurdles, climbing through a window, and dragging 150 pounds, all in just over two minutes? Well, that’s the challenge recruits at the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) are facing under a newly launched physical ability test.

The department recently replaced its previous fitness exam with a more demanding course designed to reflect real-life policing demands by simulating situations that officers may encounter out in the field.
