Chasing records with winter cold still on hold

A beautiful pattern is taking shape, with what I’d call an ideal forecast expected for Monday: sunny skies and highs near 70 degrees. Anytime we get conditions like that in the middle of winter, you really have to enjoy them.

The record high for Monday is 76 degrees, set back in 1932. We’ll make a run at it, but right now it looks like we’ll come up just a few degrees short.

The big question is whether we can hold onto that warmth until Tuesday. That may be tough as colder air from Canada begins pushing south. For now, Tuesday is still forecast to reach around 70 degrees, but areas farther north may only climb into the lower 60s…
