UAPB research team says compound found in Arkansas rice can slow aging

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KATV) — Researchers at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff have found evidence that a natural compound found in rice bran may actually help reverse signs of aging at the cellular level.

It’s called gamma-oryzanol, and through the use of nanotechnology, researchers say it could one day protect you from chronic diseases associated with aging, like heart disease and cancer.

“We are confident enough to say that this compound, oryzanol and the gamma-oryzanol nano emulsions, they are able to slow down the aging in humans,” Dr. Priya Yadav, a UAPB postdoctoral fellow and member of the research team, told KATV…
