Arkansas Children’s gets $1.5M gift for expansion project

ARKANSAS (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas Children’s continues the momentum behind its $371 million expansion project with a $1.5 million gift.

Katie and Miles Stephens have been long-time supporters of Arkansas Children’s. Katie is a lifetime member of the hospital’s auxiliary and has been a member of its foundation board since 2024.

According to a release, the Stephens family are passionate about supporting the expansion project after learning more about its scope and the long-ter, impact it will have on pediatric health care.

A Fayetteville man, considered a “career criminal” by authorities, has been sentenced to nearly two decades in federal prison for a firearm offense.

“We believe so deeply in what Arkansas Children’s is doing and the people leading this work,” Katie said. “This project will make a real difference for families and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. We hope our gift encourages others to join in supporting something so meaningful for our state.”…
