LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Families and teachers at Scott Charter School are distressed after just learning that the Maumelle-based Academics Plus Charter Schools Inc. system their school is a part of is considering permanently closing the school.
The APCSI Board of Trustees will vote next Thursday on whether or not to shutter the school, and the school community is upset they were only notified Wednesday at a meeting that, by some accounts, did not go very well.
“My grandmother was there… she just said that it was just all over the place… parents, teachers upset, crying, and they just refused to answer questions. Just shut it down right in the middle of it,” said Shelby Bernard, mother of three students at Scott Charter School. “Us as parents, we’re all mad because none of us are being heard.”…
