SHERWOOD, Ark. (KATV) — The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce board has voted unanimously to terminate its chief executive officer after what leaders described as ongoing concerns about management, professional conduct, and operational performance.
During a special meeting on Friday, chamber representatives said the board held a special session Feb. 3 with 14 of 15 members present. After reviewing a performance improvement plan, related correspondence, and the CEO, Veronica Vega’s, overall leadership, the board approved a motion of no confidence to end her employment.
Board members said there were several reasons why, including an unauthorized renewal of a sublease agreement for the chamber’s office space before receiving board approval.
