Familiar voice across Arkansas calling it a career after 56 years in the Natural State

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — A member of the prestigious Emmy Gold Circle and one of Arkansas’ most recognizable broadcast voices is preparing to sign off for the final time.

Dave Woodman — former anchor at KARK, longtime Voice of the Razorbacks and longtime public address announcer at University of Arkansas at Little Rock — will call his final game Saturday at UA Little Rock. The 90-year-old broadcaster says reaching that milestone was always his goal.

“It’s a little bittersweet,” Woodman said.

Woodman stepped away from television years ago but continued working in radio and as a PA announcer, becoming a fixture at games across the state.
