Arkansas State Police Honors CDL Examiner Dempsie Coffman for 50 Years of Service

The Arkansas State Police is honoring CDL Examiner Dempsie Coffman for reaching an extraordinary milestone — 50 years of service with the agency.

Coffman began his career with Arkansas State Police on October 7, 1973, when he was hired as a state trooper. In 1979, he was named ASP Trooper of the Year. During his distinguished career, Coffman served in five of the department’s 12 troops and steadily rose through the ranks. He retired in April 2004 as Lieutenant Coffman, Assistant Commander of Troop J.

Later that same year, Coffman returned to the agency as a Commercial Driver’s License examiner. After 17 years in that role, he retired again to focus on family health matters.

But his service didn’t end there…
