LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Every two years, the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partners with the Pulaski County Road and Bridge crews to inspect the Big Dam Bridge for cracks and structural stability.
This year, the bridge was closed to pedestrians Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm for inspection. Now, the Big Dam Bridge is open again during its regular hours after it was deemed to have no issues and requires no maintenance.
“This was a big thing, this is one of the longest, I think, pedestrian bridges in the country, so we want to make it look good and make sure it’s safe for the people of central Arkansas,” said Jay Woods, a public affairs specialist with the UACE…
