Phyllis Stickney brings big laughs to the Nuthouse Comedy Lounge tonight

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — If you’re looking for a reason to get out of the house tonight, comedian and actress Phyllis Yvonne Stickney is back in her home state and ready to bring the laughs to North Little Rock.

Stickney, known for roles in “The Cosby Show,” “New Jack City” and more, is performing tonight at The Nuthouse Comedy Lounge. She made it to town after a travel day that included flight delays, and said she appreciated the warm welcome.

Arkansas isn’t just a tour stop for Stickney, it’s home. She said she was born at what was then University Hospital, now UAMS, and even rattled off her grandparents’ address:. “That was a foundation,” she said, calling it “the fertile ground, if you will, from which my career sprung.” Stickney said her comedy is rooted in her experiences growing up in the South, adding, “I’m a proud Arkansan.”…
