Faculty, students from UAPB attend conference, spotlight Arkansas’ maternal mental health challenges

Faculty and students from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Department of Social Work recently presented at the Social Work Action Coalition State Conference, bringing attention to maternal mental health challenges impacting families across Arkansas.

Associate social work professor Tamara Glover, interim Department Chair Felicia Cooper, and social work students Rosland Daniels and Amanda Knight delivered a presentation focused on strengthening maternal mental health through community engagement, education and advocacy.

The presentation highlighted the prevalence of maternal mental health conditions, including postpartum depression, as well as ongoing disparities in access to care.
