NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the North Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department said they have planned a prescribed burn for North Little Rock’s Burns Park.
Officials said the Monday burn will occur over 250 acres in total. Monday was selected for their forecast wind speed and direction to minimize impact, officials said, adding that visitors and residents in central Arkansas may smell and see smoke, and at night, embers may be visible.

Officials said certain roads will be closed or rerouted during the burn: Arlene Laman Drive will be closed at the intersection of Championship Drive and Joe K Poch Drive will be closed at the gate just past the youth baseball complex.
