Active burn bans in Northwest Arkansas, River Valley

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Burn bans remain in effect across parts of the KNWA/FOX24 viewing area as dry, windy conditions increase wildfire risk.

All of Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, excluding Scott County, remains under a high fire risk, meaning fires can ignite easily, spread quickly and become difficult to control if not addressed early, according to the Arkansas Forestry Division.

Benton County

A countywide burn ban has been extended through 8:30 a.m. on March 24, prohibiting all outdoor burning. The extension follows two earlier short-term orders issued over the weekend.

Carroll County

Carroll County is not under a burn ban at this time.

Madison County

In Madison County, multiple weekend fires stretched crews and led to a burn ban effective Sunday at 4:37 p.m. No end date has been announced.

Washington County

County Judge Patrick W. Deakins has issued a countywide burn ban, effective immediately and remaining in place until further notice.

The order prohibits all outdoor burning, including trash, brush and campfires. Violations may lead to criminal charges and possible civil penalties.
