Escaped Arkansas inmate recaptured in near Oklahoma border, sheriff says

LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — An inmate who recently escaped from the Polk County Detention Center has been recaptured, and the stolen vehicle he was believed to be driving has been recovered.

Levi Poor, 38, had been hiding in LeFlore County, Oklahoma, since the escape, Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer said.

Poor was taken into custody Saturday, March 28, following a traffic stop on Highway 8W near the Arkansas-Oklahoma state line in Polk County, Arkansas. The vehicle briefly attempted to flee before stopping, and Poor ran on foot but was quickly caught, Sawyer said.
