Legislation would increase Arkansas tax funding to counties

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A resolution filed on Friday for the upcoming Arkansas fiscal session would increase the amount of money going to Arkansas counties from state taxes.

The resolution’s sponsor, Sen. Bryan King (R-28), said in a statement that the need for the change is because “local governments are not getting what they deserve.”

The resolution, if signed into law, would allocate the first $150 million collected to the County Equalization Turnback Fund. Once the fund reaches $150 million, each county would receive $2 million…
