Which towns get warned the most? The least? The last 10 years tell an interesting story.
Northeast Arkansas leads the way, with Jonesboro, Paragould, and Monette seeing the highest number of tornado warnings. Since 2016, Jonesboro has had 33 warnings, Paragould has had 31, and Monette has had 30. Meanwhile, a few towns have only had one warning in nearly a decade, including Black Springs, Moorefield, and Letona.
There is a psychological side to this, too. Communities that experience frequent warnings can become somewhat desensitized over time. On the other hand, places that rarely get warnings may take them more seriously or feel less prepared when one does happen. Either way, every warning matters. It only takes one.
