CONWAY, Ark. (KATV) — Hendrix College is launching a new program that will require every student to complete a full-time work experience as part of their undergraduate education, a move college leaders say is designed to better prepare graduates for a changing workforce.
The initiative, called the Via Hendrix program, is set to begin in fall of 2026, when the college will welcome the first incoming class that will graduate under the new requirements.
President Dr. Karen Petersen said the program is intended to help students and families feel confident that a Hendrix degree will translate into long-term career value as the job market evolves. She said Hendrix is “the only institution in Arkansas doing this,” describing the approach as “innovative and cutting edge.”…
