Shower and storm chances will be bountiful in the week ahead. This may deliver some beneficial rain to some communities, but it’s likely to be a ‘feast or famine’ style. Some communities may receive over 2 inches of rain through Wednesday, May 20. Other communities may receive less than half an inch through Wednesday.
Saturday night into Sunday, expect skies to clear a bit. Temperatures will remain very mild, and conditions will stay humid.
On Sunday, May 17, in Arkansas, expect a mix of sun and clouds and an isolated chance of a shower or a stray storm. Highs will make it into the mid to upper 80s statewide. A community or two in the state may reach 90 degrees.
One of Sunday’s stray storms could be strong, but it’s a very low risk. That risk is mainly in northwest Arkansas, and mainly a damaging wind gust risk.
By Monday, more robust shower and storm chances arrive.
But the best chances for showers and storms of the work week will be on Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20. On Tuesday, there is at least a low risk of strong to severe storms. This includes parts of western, northern, and central Arkansas.
Through Wednesday, parts of the Natural State could see beyond 2 inches of rain.
After Wednesday, the overall pattern remains rainy. Showers and storms are possible into Memorial Day Weekend…
