Little Rock Zoo welcomes new ostrich chicks Gladys and Margaret

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Saturday, the Little Rock Zoo revealed its newest and fluffiest residents, a pair of ostrich chicks.

In a post on social media, the zoo welcomed Gladys and Margaret as its newest arrivals.

“These ostrich chicks are on a big journey to join our savanna ‘herd,’” the post said. “Right now, these youngsters are living in a smaller habitat. It’s a safe space for them to eat, play and grow. They need to get much bigger and stronger before they can handle the ‘big kids’ table.’”

Zoo officials said when Gladys and Margaret reach full size, they will move to the large multispecies veldt, where they will first be introduced to two adult female ostriches, followed by zebras and wildebeest…
