Collective effort houses dozens of sheltered animals in Northwest Arkansas

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Best Friends Animal Society and Walmart collaborated over the weekend to promote the three-day-long Pawpalooza festival, an event that promoted the adoption of healthy dogs and cats in Northwest Arkansas.

To make adoption easily accessible to families, all adoption fees were waved and in turn, more than 85 dogs and cats were adopted over the weekend.

This event was a part of a nationwide initiative to sustain a no-kill initiative. The no-kill initiative is defined by a 90% save rate for animals that do not have irreparable medical conditions or serious behavioral issues.
